July is Parks and Recreation Month
Since 1985, America has celebrate July as the nation's official Park and Recreation month.
Every park has a history made up of thousands of stories that help to define it. This July, we want to tell our park and recreation story and provide opportunities for everyone in our community to create their own stories, as well.
Parks are at the center of so many experiences and memories. Our local parks are often our first experiences in nature, our introduction to a favorite hobby or physical activity. They are places to gather with friends and family, spaces to celebrate life’s special moments, spots of respite and healing, sites that connect us with essential community services, and so much more.
In celebration of Parks and Rec month we are offering a full calendar of events to promote getting outside and making memories in our parks. We have partnered with community entities to host events for children of all ages and for adults. Some of our programs require registration but all are free for the community!
